Military Odyssey, Detling, Kent 24th, 25th and 26th August 2013
After a rather wet and windy Saturday on and of the battlefield Sunday and bank holiday Monday were a lot warmer and dryer. Tyldesley’s had a good weekend overall and very good battle Monday. After drill in the morning the performance was greatly improved.
Military Odyssey is held each year at the County Kent Show Ground which is a really good venue for not only the English Civil War Society but a lot of other re-enactment groups. These range form the Romans and Greeks all the way through to more recent history such as World War One and Two. If you are not interested in the battles then the living history will blow you away with some of the most realistic living history displays. We would also like to thank the organizers and marshals of the event for the wonderful job they did over the weekend.Sir Thomas Tyldesley’s Regiment of Foote attended a Major Muster at the Detling Military Odyssey, Kent where re-enactors from Roman to the Vietnam War were in attendance.
