It is an event which we hold on the last Sunday in January come rain or shine. In the cold air of a late January morning members of Sir Thomas Tyldesleys regiment of Foote made there way from their dwellings around the country to form up on The Mall then march up to Horse Guards Parade to pay our respects to our murdered King.
The Kings army traces the route of the King’s last walk from St James’ Palace in the Mall to his place of execution at the banqueting House in Whitehall. A wreath is laid outside the Banqueting House. The wreath-laying is followed by a short service and the presentation of awards and commissions to deserving King’s Army members. Members of the Roundhead Association are also in attendance providing valuable organizational support for which we thank them.
