What We Do

It is the aim of Sir Thomas Tyldesley’s Regiment to accurately portray life during the 17th Century and especially the English Civil Wars, probably the most turbulent yet least understood period in English history. Pike push under fire at Lulworth Castle We do this in a number of ways:

  • Major Battle Re-enactments: where large numbers of soldiers take to the field to provide a colourful and noisy spectacle.
  • Living History: events where we can accurately demonstrate life as it would have been for soldiers and civilians of that period.
  • Drill Displays: to demonstrate the use and handling of weapons from the Civil War period.

Over the years we have been pleased to provide entertainment for the public, education for both members and non-members, and to help raise funds for a variety of sponsors. We are a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation and are made up of volunteers from across the country. If you would like to know more about what we can do please contact our events organiser via e-mail or post:
